The Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulhamza, received on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a delegation from Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation, in the presence of the Head of the Media and Government Communication Unit, Assistant Lecturer Baraa Amer Al-Abbasi. The meeting was dedicated to handing over the donations contributed by the college in support of the foundation’s humanitarian programs.

During the meeting, the donations were officially delivered to the foundation’s delegation. These contributions were the result of active engagement by the academic staff in humanitarian campaigns launched in cooperation with the foundation, reflecting the college’s commitment to its societal role and its keenness to translate theoretical values related to social solidarity and human rights into tangible practices with real impact.

The Dean emphasized that this initiative is part of the college’s vision to promote the concept of “the university in the service of society.” He noted that supporting vulnerable groups—especially orphans and patients—demonstrates an advanced awareness within the academic environment of the importance of social responsibility, and reinforces the role of academic institutions as active partners in human development.

He added that the college will continue its support and cooperation with Al-Ayn Foundation by expanding participation in upcoming campaigns and enhancing volunteer activities with a humanitarian dimension, thereby fostering a culture of giving and linking educational outcomes to societal needs.

The Dean also outlined prospects for future cooperation, stressing a direction toward launching more structured and sustainable joint initiatives, including awareness programs on campus and periodic support campaigns, in a way that strengthens the college’s presence in humanitarian work.

For her part, the Head of the Media and Government Communication Unit, Assistant Lecturer Baraa Al-Abbasi, presented several proposals to the foundation’s delegation, focusing on developing mechanisms for joint media cooperation and enhancing institutional coverage of humanitarian campaigns. These efforts aim to broaden societal impact and increase awareness of the importance of charitable initiatives.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reflecting the college’s commitment to its developmental role alongside its academic mission.

In turn, the delegation of Al-Ayn Foundation expressed their appreciation for this initiative, praising the role of the College of Political Science in supporting humanitarian work. They affirmed that this cooperation represents an effective model of partnership between academic institutions and civil society organizations, contributing to achieving sustainable humanitarian impact.
