The Council of the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad held its first meeting for the 2026-2027 academic year on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Adel Abdul Hamza Al-Badiwi, and attended by the council members. The meeting addressed several organizational, academic, and administrative matters. The Dean directed the council to monitor the progress of the second-round examinations for undergraduate students in both the morning and evening programs, ensuring adherence to established regulations and guidelines. He also emphasized the importance of organizing student schedules and distributing courses according to academic standards and regulations. Furthermore, he instructed the heads of academic departments to hold departmental meetings to address any problems facing the educational process directly and to work towards finding appropriate solutions. He stressed the importance of providing educational and psychological guidance to students. The directives also included monitoring inspection visits related to occupational safety procedures and preparing and overseeing the formation of scientific committees, postgraduate studies committees, intellectual property committees, and plagiarism detection committees within the academic departments. This is to ensure the smooth operation of academic and administrative work according to established procedures. In addition, the council discussed several other items on its agenda and made the necessary decisions and recommendations to enhance the college’s effectiveness. The college is operating smoothly and is ready for the requirements of the new academic year.
