At 10:00 AM on Monday, April 13th, 2026, the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad hosted a scientific workshop titled “The Role of Technology in Contemporary Warfare and Cyber Warfare.” This event was organized in Al-Hurriya Hall by the Continuing Education Unit and attended by several faculty members.
The workshop highlighted the vital role of technology in shaping the course of events in contemporary conflicts, particularly cyber warfare, while also seeking methodologies to address growing risks and to enhance digital security awareness and information protection within institutions.
The workshop was presented by:

This workshop, in all its parts, aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing digital literacy, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by establishing cybersecurity concepts. Furthermore, it contributes to reducing the risks of electronic blackmail and supporting national security strategies.
The workshop concluded with the recommendation that protecting the digital world is no longer merely a technical responsibility; rather, it requires advanced human awareness and the continuous updating of systems and policies to ensure that information and institutions remain safe from evolving cyber threats.
