The Unit of Media at the College of Political Sciences organized a comprehensive campaign that included awareness activities on the occasion of “Iraqi Week to Combat Drugs”, with the participation of Instructors and students from the college’s scientific departments. The campaign aimed to enhance awareness of drug risks and the necessity of prevention among students, in order to support the achievement of the third target of sustainable development, which is “Fine Health and Prosperity,” by spreading a culture of protecting and maintaining public health.
The campaign started with instruction presentation introduced by following instructors from the college: Assistant Instructor Baraa Yahia Amer, the head of Media and Governmental Communication, Assistant Instructor Bashaer Ahmed Abed from the department of the Political Thoughts, and Assistant Instructor Ebtihal Malik Jalil from Registration department The campaign showed the health, social, and psychological risks of drugs in addition to presenting practical advices concerning the method of protection and social awareness.
The campaign also includes distributing awareness brochures among students designed by Mr. Mohamed Jassim Mohamed one from the Media and Governmental Communication, those brochures presents a visual and simplified messages to reinforce the information delivered during the campaign, and links it to the significance of protecting against drags as a part of achieving the good health and prosperity for everyone, the thing that reflects the commitment of the college in participating in having security, healthy society.
The activities concluded with awareness advocacy aimed at students to strengthen the principle of awareness and the role of youth in spreading the culture of drug-prohibition and encourage them to actively participate in social activities.
The Unit of Media confirms that executing awareness initiatives, participating in promoting the college’s educational and healthy role, and expressing endeavors to create a sustainable awareness among students concerning the drugs- risks, and the importance of facing this phenomenon in a way that helps to build a healthy, comprehensive society
