The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad achieved a distinguished presence at the University’s Powerlifting Championship, held as part of the central sports activities and with wide participation from various colleges within the university.
The college’s students demonstrated remarkable performance in the competitions. Student Baqir Qahtan Adnan secured second place in the 74 kg weight category, while student Hassan Ali Saeed also achieved second place in the 59 kg weight category, in the three lifts (squat, bench press, and deadlift).
This achievement underscores the College of Political Science’s commitment to supporting student activities and encouraging student participation in university events, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and contributing to the development of their physical skills alongside their academic excellence.
This participation is also in line with the third Sustainable Development Goal related to good health and well-being, by encouraging healthy lifestyles and physical activity among students, as well as contributing to achieving the fourth goal related to quality education by establishing the concept of comprehensive development that combines academic achievement and sports activities, within a university environment that supports creativity and integration in building the human being.
