As part of its efforts to enhance the practical experience of its students, the College of Political Science organized a field visit to the Iraqi Parliament building. The students were accompanied by the Dean’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Adnan Al-Mayali; Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ali, Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division; Assistant Lecturer Miqdam Jaber Ahmed,Rapporteur of the Political Systems Department; and Mr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed from the Media and Government Communication Unit.

During the visit, the students learned about the workings of the various departments within the Parliament. They received explanations from department heads regarding the nature of administrative and legislative tasks, as well as the coordination mechanisms between parliamentary committees and technical departments. Several topics related to the students’ academic studies were also discussed, adding a valuable educational and practical dimension to the visit.
This visit comes within the framework of the Deanship of the College of Political Science’s approach to linking the theoretical and applied aspects, and expanding students’ horizons to learn about state institutions from within, which contributes to preparing a conscious generation capable of actively participating in political and administrative work in the future. It is also part of the college’s efforts to support and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, by enhancing the quality of education and aligning the academic environment with professional requirements according to the fourth goal, and consolidating the principles of good governance and supporting the building of strong institutions according to the sixteenth goal, as well as enhancing effective partnerships between the university and national institutions in support of the seventeenth goal.
