The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad has enriched its academic library with a qualitative scientific achievement: the publication of a new textbook entitled “Strategy: Contemporary Concepts and Visions,” authored by Professor Dr. Ammar Hamid Yassin, Professor Dr. Dina Mohammed Jabr and Professor Dr. Suhad Ismail Khleel teaching in College of Political Science/Al-Nahrain University.

This book is a notable addition to the academic progress in the field of strategic studies. It combines theoretical frameworks and applied approaches, addressing a range of contemporary concepts such as strategic planning, strategic thinking, foresight, and prediction, in addition to offering a modern treatment of major issues in international relations, such as international crises, war, and deterrence strategy.

The book is distinguished by its transcendence of narrow military theory toward broader approaches to state management and decision-making, providing strategic leaders, policymakers, and researchers with advanced cognitive tools to help them approach contemporary challenges with a systematic and proactive approach.

The book also contributes to expanding the knowledge base for undergraduate and graduate students in political science faculties by providing academic content that balances theoretical depth with practical dimensions, enhancing students’ ability to analyze and formulate future visions.

This scholarly achievement underscores the role of the Faculty of Political Science professors in enriching the Arab academic library and consolidating the university’s position as an intellectual hub that seeks to keep pace with global knowledge developments and provide scientific output that supports the decision-making process and contributes to specialized research in strategy and future studies.
