The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad participated in the training course organized by the Department of Student Activities, titled “The Culture and Ethics of Voluntary Work”, held at the department’s theater. The course was conducted under the patronage of the esteemed President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Ensaf, and supervised by the Director of the Department of Student Activities, Professor Dr. Ali Sadiq, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Supervision and Scientific Evaluation, aimed at enhancing students’ skills.

The college’s participation was represented by Dr. Zaid Abdul Jabbar, who delivered a lecture on the third day of the course, focusing on the theme of voluntary work. The workshop included two main components: theoretical and practical. Dr. Zaid addressed the significance of volunteerism and its role in raising awareness and fostering the spirit of initiative. He also emphasized its support in carrying out various tasks under both normal and exceptional circumstances.

In his address, Professor Dr. Ali Sadiq, Director of the Department of Student Activities, affirmed that volunteer work represents a noble human and social value that contributes to offering aid and assistance in both regular situations and during natural disasters. He praised the efforts made in organizing such workshops that reinforce students’ roles in serving their communities and nurture a spirit of generosity. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of instilling a culture of volunteerism among university students due to its positive impact on shaping their academic character.
