The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Political Science – University of Baghdad organized a specialized training course entitled: “Implementing the National Institutional Accreditation Standards for Higher Education Institutions in Iraq.”

The course was delivered by Dr. Venus Ghalib, a faculty member in the Department of International Studies, with the attendance and participation of a number of faculty members and staff, under the direct supervision of the Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Division, Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ali.

The course aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the mechanisms for writing the self-evaluation report, contributing to the achievement of institutional accreditation standards at the college, by identifying quality requirements and tools for improving institutional performance.

The course included two main topics:
• The first topic: A detailed explanation of the eight institutional accreditation standards.
• The second topic: A presentation on the mechanisms for writing the self-evaluation report and the improvement plan in accordance with approved regulations.

This course comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to develop academic and administrative performance and to prepare the requirements for obtaining national institutional accreditation.
