As part of its academic program aimed at developing students’ research skills, the College of Political Science – University of Baghdad organized a field visit to the General Secretariat of the Central Library for first-year students. The visit aimed to familiarize them with the available services and methods of accessing knowledge resources.
The visit was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Adnan Aziz, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, along with a number of the college’s faculty members, who accompanied the students during their tour of the library’s various sections.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Taysir Fawzi Radif, Secretary-General of the Central Library, and Ms. Najla Tariq, who greeted the students and emphasized the importance of such visits in building academic bridges between the library and university colleges, as well as in promoting a culture of reliance on credible academic sources.
During the visit, students were introduced to the library’s various departments and received a detailed explanation on how to use both print and electronic resources effectively, and how to best utilize them in preparing academic research and studies.
Through such initiatives, the College of Political Science aims to bridge theoretical learning with practical experience, while fostering an environment that encourages students to engage in self-directed learning and explore the tools of rigorous academic research.
