Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Political Science, the Scientific Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission, organized an educational symposium entitled “Banning the Ba’ath Party and Racist and Extremist Ideas” as part of preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The symposium addressed the importance of confronting the ideas promoting the banned Ba’ath Party and the racist and extremist ideas prevalent in the political and media spheres which came in accordance with the Prime Minister’s directives calling for educational workshops and symposiums at universities. The focus in the symposium was on Law No. 32 of 2016: banning the Ba’ath Party, entities, parties, and racist and terrorist activities.

The symposium was attended by a number of professors and students who engaged with the topics presented to enhancing political awareness, and countering these negative trends and tendencies.
