Assistant lecturer Baraa Amer Yahya, a lecturer at the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, participated in the first international scientific conference organized by the Department of History at the College of Education at Samarra University, under the theme:
“Human Sciences: A Renewed Vision for Achieving Sustainable Development.”

Lecturer Baraa Amer Yahya presented her research entitled:
“The Role of Social Media in Promoting the Culture of Extremism from the Perspective of Iraqi Media Professors.” The research examined the impact of digital platforms on the development of extremist tendencies, through an analysis of the perspectives of a select group of media professors in Iraq.

The conference witnessed the participation of more than 200 Iraqi and Arab researchers, and its activities extended over two days, with multiple scientific sessions held in the halls of the colleges and departments of Samarra University.

Lecturer Baraa Amer Yahya received the Creativity and Excellence Medal in recognition of her active research participation in the conference sessions.

The conference was held on Monday, April 14, 2025, and its activities lasted for two days.
