The Journal of Political Science, published by the College of Political Science, University of Baghdad, has achieved a Q1 (Top Tier) classification for the year 2024 according to the ARCIF index standards. Previously, it ranked 9th among Arabic journals in the general field of political science and 3rd in the specializations of this field. Notably, according to the 2024 annual report analyzing the Arabic Journal Index, it is the only Iraqi journal ranked among the top ten journals in various disciplines across Iraq.
The ARCIF Impact Factor is controlled by the Supervision and Coordination Council, which represents both Arab and international organizations such as the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States in Beirut, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Library of Alexandria Knowledge Base. This council also consists of a scientific committee of renowned experts and academics from several Arab countries and the United Kingdom.
In addition, it is noteworthy that the University of Baghdad has reached the top position in the Arab world in terms of the number of academic and research institutions based on citations from affiliated authors, as reflected in all ARCIF reports.
This recognition highlights the significant contribution of the Journal of Political Science to the academic and research community.
