The National Security Advisory has honored the National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism and Achieving Social Cohesion by recognizing Baghdad University Political Science student Ali Qasim Khairallah Al-Mudhafar for winning the best research in the competition for the best graduation project in the field of combating violent extremism, hate speech, promoting tolerance, and building peace.
The research conducted by student Ali Qasim Khairallah Al-Mudhafar, titled “A Strategy for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism: A Model,” supervised by Assistant Lecturer Lyth Issam Majid Al-Obaidi, was selected as the best research in Iraq among the submitted papers, evaluated by a committee of professors and specialists formed by the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Additionally, the National Committee for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism held its first annual conference to honor the winning students in the competition for the best five specialized research papers on combating violent extremism leading to terrorism and achieving social cohesion. The conference was attended by National Security Advisor Mr. Qasim Al-Araji, several members of the Iraqi Parliament, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haidar Abdul Dhi, the head of the National Committee, Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Badiri, government and academic figures, university presidents, deans of Iraqi colleges, and several heads and members of subcommittees in the ministries.
