The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad held a lecture for postgraduate students on publishing scientific researches in reputable journals under the title “The Military Doctrine of Terrorist Organizations: The Asymmetric Warfare in Iraq in 2014 as a Model.”
Assistant Professor Dr. Dina Muhammad Jabr pointed out during her lecture that military doctrine is the cornerstone and basic idea, as by the state’s armed forces, of all scientific opinions about the nature of modern war in its social, political, and military-technical aspects. It is the supreme military policy from which the art and science of preparing and using military forces stem for the purpose of achieving their vital interests. She explained that terrorist organizations have chosen a military doctrine for themselves. Therefore, forming a clear understanding of the terrorist organizations before us does not require us to raise the levels of awareness of how to confront them, but it also requires adopting new military methods with multinational cooperative work by academics, researchers, and practitioners, considering that all countries that have experienced cases of global terrorism provide a way to understand the dynamic environment that presents terrorism.
At the end of the lecture, there was a time for postgraduate students to ask questions and inquiries and to receive answers about the lecture.
