The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled “The Russian-Chinese partnership and its impact on the international system after 2008, the BRICS group (as a model)” by the student “Aseel Faisal Yassin.”
The thesis dealt with Russian-Chinese relations, areas of cooperation, partnership, and how the BRICS group influenced this partnership and influenced the emergence and development of this organization, as well as the Russian-Chinese employment of BRICS and their impact on the international system. It represents many opportunities and challenges, as well as how to confront the power of the United States of America and limit it and try to change the form of and the structure of the international system. The importance of the study lies in the fact that it sheds light on the Russian-Chinese partnership in all fields during specific periods of time starting from the dissolution of the Soviet Union until now, and how the political and economic aspects affected this partnership. The study dealt with the BRICS organization in terms of its origins, its economies, its goals, members, summits, and how this grouping transformed from an economic bloc into a bloc with an important political role that works to change the international system and transform it from a unipolar system to a multipolar system where cooperation and peace prevail. Given the importance of both Russia and China, They have prominent and important role in this organization, and this was clearly demonstrated through their continuous endeavor to develop this organization and increase its capabilities and international role.
At the end of the viva, the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a grade of high “very good.” Wishing all our dear students good luck and success in their academic and professional lives.
