The thesis analyzed the typical conflicts, wars, and divisions facing the peacebuilding process in Syria. The research began with a discussion of the conceptual and theoretical frameworks that surrounded the concept of peacebuilding. Concepts close to peacebuilding, such as preventive diplomacy, peacekeeping, peacemaking, and transitional justice, are important mechanisms in building peace in post-conflict societies. Among them, the study sought to develop a more precise definition of the concept of peacebuilding; And that is based on the meaning of the concept in language and terminology, and the study defined it as “a set of procedures and measures that are taken at the stage of ending conflicts in order not to slide back into conflicts again.” The study also contributed to clarifying the historical roots of the concept of peacebuilding and the theories that explain it, and then Research the most important adopted peacebuilding mechanisms.
The study reviewed the opportunities and challenges facing local and international efforts aimed at achieving peacebuilding in Syria, represented by official rules such as the institutions of the executive authority and the Syrian military institutions, and informal institutions such as local councils, civil society organizations, youth, women’s initiatives, and others, and researched their role in achieving peacebuilding policy and promoting community peace in Syria. Syria, and the study concluded that the most important peace-building mechanisms in all societies are through commitment to democratic politics, respect for the rights and freedoms of individuals, and the development of all fields; Political, economic, social and cultural, respecting diversity and pluralism, avoiding hatred and hatred, and living under a unified national identity that unites all sects.
At the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a grade of “very good”, wishing all our students success in their academic and practical lives.
