The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Intellectual Rehabilitation of Extremist Movements, Iraq and Egypt as a Model” by the student “Qais Abd Badan Abd Al-Baydati”.
The letter clarified that we can determine the importance of extremism as a global phenomenon that includes the entire world without any exception, as the importance of extremism lies in the fact that it represents the foreground, or represents the extremely fertile ground for the emergence and growth of bad or offensive phenomena for all of humanity. Religion, all phenomena entered the dictionary of life through the gate of extremism in all its forms and types, and from this standpoint this study gained its importance because extremism is closely linked with thought and belief, so the extremists did not stand before the judges; Because the law does not judge ideas and beliefs, but as soon as the extremists transformed their intellectual extremism into behaviors and practices on the ground, it became terrorism, violence, racial blasphemy, and sectarian, ethnic, and religious fanaticism, until the prisons were filled with such extremists.
Therefore, the choice of the topic of extremism was due to its great importance in the Arab, Islamic and international world, as the issue of extremism is one of the topics that caused a wide rift between the various global and regional circles, and the many debates, discussions, conferences, seminars and agreements were not able to reduce the phenomenon of extremism, and extremism has led with the entry into The third millennium until the world moves into the era of declaring wars and occupation against Islamic countries and extremist Islamic organizations and movements in every part of the Islamic world, and thus extremism represented a real threat to human existence, and extremism and extremist movements captured the attention of researchers, thinkers, writers, and the international, regional and local community, especially after The events of the eleventh of September 2001 AD.
At the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a grade of “very good, high”. We wish all our students success in their academic and practical lives.
