The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, on Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, held a discussion of the master’s thesis submitted by researcher Ahmed Asad Ali, entitled “Security and Peace in the Political Thought of the Israeli Right after 2000,” in the Dr. Jihad Al-Hassani Hall.

The thesis sought to examine the position of the duality of security and peace in the political thought of the Israeli Right after 2000, and to analyze how it is employed to achieve political gains and justify policies based on violence, expansion, and the exclusion of the other. It also discussed the most prominent security propositions of the Israeli Right, the impact of security crises on shaping its vision, and its position on peace and the proposed solutions it adopts, in addition to exploring the implications of this duality for the future of the Israeli entity and the political Right. The study concluded that the concepts of security and peace among the Israeli Right represent the product of an intellectual system that seeks to legitimize its internal and external practices and consolidate narratives that serve the project of “Greater Israel.”

The thesis consisted of three chapters and was supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali.

The discussion committee comprised:

* Professor Dr. Tariq Abdul-Hafiz Adnan – Chair.
* Assistant Professor Dr. Muayyad Jubair Mahmoud – Member.
* Assistant Professor Basma Khalil Namiq – Member.
* Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali – Supervisor.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee decided to accept the thesis and award researcher Ahmed Asad Ali a Master’s degree with a grade of (Very Good).
