The College of Political Science University of Baghdad achieved fourth place among the University’s colleges in the University of Baghdad Athletics Championship (Track and Field), which was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the fields of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, under the patronage of the President of the University of Baghdad, Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq, and under the supervision of the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency.

This achievement came as the result of the active participation of the College’s students in the events of running distances of (200, 400, and 800 meters), javelin throw, and shot put, in a competitive atmosphere that reflected a spirit of determination and discipline.

 The team of the College of Political Science was represented by:

  • Mohammed Ali Naiem – Fourth Year (Morning Studies) * Mohammed Ahmed Ubaid – Third Year (Morning Studies)
  • Mohammed Muayyad Yousif – Third Year (Morning Studies)
  • Redha Ghassan Talal – Second Year (Morning Studies)

The team received direct supervision and follow-up from the College faculty members:

  • Prof. Dr. Ali Malik Hameed
  • Dr. Nuwain Azad Salih
  • Dr. Zaid Abdul Jabbar Shahbaz

They were present with the students throughout all stages of participation, offering support and encouragement, and monitoring their performance with a responsible academic spirit that reflects the College’s commitment to caring for its students both inside and outside the classroom.

This achievement comes within the framework of the University of Baghdad’s sports activities program, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), emphasizing the importance of building the student’s integrated personality academically and physically.

The College of Political Science affirms its continued support for student activities and the promotion of team spirit and institutional belonging, thereby consolidating its distinguished presence in various university events.
