The Student Activities Division / Volunteer Work Unit at the College of Political Science – University of Baghdad launched, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the “Ramadan Basket” initiative under the patronage of the Dean of the College and with the contribution of a number of donating faculty members and staff, at the College of Political Science and in several areas of Baghdad.
The initiative was launched pursuant to the University of Baghdad’s letter No. (1384) dated 24/2/2026, which included the Initiative Document for Voluntary Work during the month of Ramadan. Food baskets were distributed to the service staff of the College and to a number of underprivileged families in various areas of the capital, with the aim of alleviating living burdens and strengthening the spirit of social solidarity, in a manner that embodies the University’s mission in serving society and consolidating the values of human solidarity.
Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative aligns with Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), as well as Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), through supporting low-income groups and enhancing social protection.
The College affirms the importance of sustaining voluntary initiatives and strengthening cooperation between the academic institution and the local community, in a manner that contributes to consolidating a culture of giving and social responsibility.
