The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the (Ataa Seed) Foundation, held a cultural symposium entitled “The Role of Male and Female Students in Decision-Making and Political Participation,” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Al-Budaiwi.
The symposium, which was held under the slogan “Today’s Students are Tomorrow’s Leaders,” aimed to encourage university student to face life’s problems and be able to solve them by making the right decision and the academic role at university through guidance and direction, in addition to reviewing the role of good human relations imposed by the necessities and requirements of constructive work; and participating in the decision and the manner of bearing responsibility.
The symposium emphasized the role of the university professor in guiding students to the right path, in addition to learning about the concept of political participation, its levels, forms, and repercussions on society, and the importance of the university student’s role in positive participation during electoral rights, by strengthening their concepts of political participation, and increasing awareness of the importance of their participation in political life.
