The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad held a second workshop accompanying the Third International Climate Conference under the title “Climate Change and Sustainable Development Goals.”
The workshop included discussion of a number of researches, where the first research was by Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Abdel Hafez Adnan under the title “Climate Change and Future Risks in Iraq: Vision and Ideas,” and the second research was by Assistant Professor Dr. Hisham Ezz El-Din and Fatima Reda, which was titled “Iraq, a climate crisis or a political crisis: a study of dimensions and solutions.” For her part, Assistant Professor Dr. Nahreen Jawad presented a research entitled “Strengthening academic work on climate change, its methods and treatments,” and Assistant Professor Basma Namik Khalil presented a research entitled “Feminist Foreign Policy and Climate Change.” Dr. Maysoon Taha Muhammad presented a research entitled “Climate change and its environmental repercussions on sustainable energy in Iraq using geographic information systems.”
The workshop continued with the discussion of the rest of the submitted research, where Assistant Professor Dr. Awrad Muhammad Malik discussed a research entitled “Climate Changes and their Impact on International Conflicts.” Assistant Professor Mahdi Najm and Ahmed Hamdan presented a research entitled “The Role of Scientific Research in Empowering Vegetable Farmers to Face Climate Change in Iraq.” In addition to presenting a research entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on Road Accidents in Fallujah District” by Dr. Muhannad Abd Hammad, Assistant Lecturer Abd al-Razzaq Abd Allah Saleh, Dr. Abd al-Razzaq Muhammad Jabara, Dr. Bilal Bardan Ali, Dr. Khaled Akbar Abd Allah, Dr. Amjad Rahim Mohammed. This was a research titled “Utilizing Sustainable Development to Face the Environmental Problems and Challenges Facing Iraq” by Assistant Lecturer Manar Majed and Engineer Haider Jiyad Muhammad, and the last research was entitled “United Nations International Efforts to Confront Climate Change” by Researcher Assistant Lecturer Saba Rasheed and Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Muazzaz Al-Hadithi.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the dialogue was opened for the attendees to answer their inquiries and questions regarding the research discussed.
