The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the National Youth Council and the Independent High Electoral Commission, organized an informative symposium under the theme “Your Voice Changes.” The symposium was under the patronage of the college’s deanship and attended by group of academics and political experts.
The symposium included two specialized lectures that addressed key topics in the electoral process. Wissam Hussein, an employee at the Electoral Commission in AlKarkh side, delivered the first lecture, entitled “The Electoral Process and the Role of Youth in the Success of Democracy.” He highlighted the importance of electoral awareness and the impact of youth participation in shaping the political landscape, reviewing models of successful international experiences in this field.
The second lecture, entitled “The Electoral Card and Its Types,” was presented by Bilal Ali Abd, a registration employee at the Commission. He explained the differences among the types of electoral cards and the mechanisms of updating data, emphasizing the importance of having an effective electoral card to ensure for citizens an unobstructed electoral right to vote.
