The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad hosted the second session of the meeting of the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Political Science in Iraqi universities, headed by Professor Dr. Amer Hassan Fayyadh and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Al-Budaiwi.
The meeting discussed several topics, the most important of which was the transformation of the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad from the branch system to the academic department system, and the modernization and auditing of curricula. In addition to discussing the creation of new departments in the field of political science in State and Community universities, in addition to discussing the issue of creating postgraduate studies at the University of Maysan; Also discussing the strategy to combat terrorism and topics that combat extremism in university curricula.
The meeting reached several recommendations, the most prominent of which is adherence to the content recommendations of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee by focusing on topics that combat extremism in the curricula of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, in addition to forming committees to audit and update the curricula and establishing specific mechanisms for this purpose, and the final approval of the transformation of the College of Political Science into academic departments and access to the curricula of these departments.
At the end of the meeting, purposeful scientific topics were discussed in order to improve the scientific reality of political science colleges in Iraq.
