The College of Political Science/University of Baghdad seeks, through its academic curricula, to educate its students politically and legally, to expand their awareness of the systems, policies and laws that establish rights for them and entail duties for them as well, and to expand their political concepts to become (towards a politically aware society of its rights and duties).

 

   In addition enabling the student to carry out the process of political analysis in all its aspects to raise the level of awareness of accepted students intellectually and culturally to be reflected on its graduates and outputs in order to preserve its prestigious reputation among the political science colleges at the level of the Arab world and the world alike.

 

 Among the most important that can be drawn from the successful policies of the College of Political Science are the following:

 1- Transformational policies: It is considered a basic policy for transforming the college system from the annual system to the course system, similar to the faculties of political science globally.

 2- Developmental policies: the process of developing curricula, study materials, and research and scientific courses to be a solid basis for scientific policy.

 3- Organizational policies: they are the policies of setting standards for institutional, organizational and administrative work and creating an atmosphere of work based on a real organizational culture.

 4- Sub-policies: They are as follows:

 A- Building basic rules for titles related to dissertations, theses, and researches.

 B – Emphasis on diversifying the titles of the subjects taught in the courses for postgraduate students.

 C- Introducing modern scientific materials and updating books for the purpose of keeping pace with scientific development.

 5- Basic policies: they include:

  •  Internal cooperation: Opening the horizons of scientific cooperation of the college with state institutions.
  •  International Cooperation: Cooperating with Arab and international colleges and universities.
  •  Global cooperation: mutual scientific exchange with embassies in Iraq
