About the Department

 The Political Systems Department is one of the main active Departments with the rest of the Departments of the College of Political Science, which included and includes the most prominent professors specialized in the field of political and constitutional systems, the science of state administration and its institutions, and other sub-specialties related to the main specialization since the transformation of political science studies from a department to a stand-alone independent specialty in 1987.

Department Message

 Preparing specialists in the study of political systems and preparing them in order to gain the latest knowledge developments related to its theoretical and scientific dimensions in the field of study, research, specialization and service to society and State alike, and then work on preparing leaders, experts and specialists in the field of investigation, research and analysis in the details and contents of the study of political systems, governments and institutions,  the policies of states and their general and private constitutional laws, especially since the university and college goals aim to improve the means of scientific research and graduate elite specialists who support society and the State to work in the field of institutional political planning as it is part of the outputs of developing skills and building specialized human self-capacities.

Department goals

 The objectives of the Department lie in setting plans and programs to qualify students and researchers scientifically and cognitively to be part of the effectiveness of keeping pace with the development of the institutional performance of countries and their systems of governance, and working to ensure that the outputs of political scientific research mimic reality and the course of events and developments taking place in our contemporary world in light of the investment of digital information technology,  working  to simulate the systems of training, qualification, research and practical preparation taking place in universities in the developed world concerned with developing curricula and research outputs in the field of studying political systems and public policies. In the end, it works to ensure that the objectives of the Department are compatible with the aspirations of students, specialists and researchers at all levels of study towards understanding research methodology,   Scientific research for information , field investigative investigations to answer the questions that occupy the interest of the executive and legislative government decision-maker and others, not to mention the modernization of research methods related to interactive and participatory topics close to the field of general and precise specialization compared to other sciences (law, economics, science  Anthropology, sociology, psychology and philosophy and other sciences).

Department Vision

 The Department’s vision stems from the necessities of keeping pace with developments in the field of theoretical and applied humanities, and moving in the analysis of the axes of studying political systems from a partial quantitative perspective, leading to analysis and understanding from a holistic, qualitative perspective, and between this and that future investigative and analytical realizations aiming at research in the field of constructive rehabilitation States and their societies moving towards addressing all crises and problems they face at the internal and external levels as part of planning mechanisms to enable stability and build modern state institutions that simulate the institutions and systems of governance in the countries of the world as a whole. Then it starts updating the dimensions of management and governance theories in a manner consistent with the aspirations of the principles of political science  And contemporary political systems to establish what is known as smart countries and societies with interactive political communication according to modern digital data and statistics that qualify them for effective institutional performance and remote management in light of the developments in the technology of the virtual and the digital world.

Department tasks

It depends on the joint work carried out by the joints of the Department, which consists of:.

 

 1- Department Council: It consists of all members of the faculty in the Department  and is headed by the head of the Department. It is concerned with discussing and developing matters of the Department that contribute to the formulation of the Department’s general policy related to scientific affairs and scientific research.

 

 2- Head of the : he/she works to achieve the higher goals and policies in the university and the college, who exercises his/her powers and scientific and administrative duties in accordance with the law.

 

 3- The Department rapporteur: He/she acts on behalf of the Department head in some of the powers delegated to him/her, or in the absence of the Department’s head. The rapporteur assists the Department head by supervising the organization of all scientific and administrative affairs of the Department.

 

 4- Department secretariat: It follows up the implementation of the instructions of the Department head and rapporteur, receives mail and presents it to the Department head, and follows up on incoming and outgoing mail and the Department’s responses to it ; Informing the faculty members of the mail related to them, following up on what is required of them, keeping and archiving files on paper and electronically, organizing them, carrying out writing, printing, copying, organizing and preparing everything related to the teaching staff members besides postgraduate students, scientifically and administratively, including minutes of discussions, files and orders.
