In commemoration of the seventh liberation anniversary, the College of Political Science, University of Baghdad, proudly hosted a celebration in honor of the Great Victory Day. This event, under the auspices of Dean Dr. Adel Al-Budaiwi, recognized the significant moment of the liberation of Iraqi territories from the control of terrorist groups, specifically ISIS.
Although seven years have passed since the liberation, the memories remain vibrant in the hearts of all Iraqis when the Iraqi flag waved again over the wrecked controlled territory. This symbolized a profound moment in the nation’s history. These memoirs are enriched with narratives of bravery featuring fearless individuals from various sectors who manfully confronted forces that sought to jeopardize the dignity of the nation as they stood strong against the public impression that anticipated Iraq’s descent towards chaos and terrorism. It is a mere aspiration that the nation, renowned as the cradle of history and civilization, falls. Iraq, by contrast, rose above all expectations. The rich heritage of Iraq, home to sacred sites preserved for centuries, was further empowered by the cleric call represented by Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani who rendered a historic fatwa that restored balance, sparked a spirit of enthusiasm, and provided a clear direction for the armed forces. This collective effort, combined with Popular Mobilization Forces from all walks of life, culminated in a remarkable victory, demonstrating to the world the resilience and courage of the Iraqi people in the face of adversity .
