The Student Activity Department successfully organized a friendly five-on-five football match with teams from the College of Political Science and the International Studies Center. The event, which involved faculty, staff and students, took place at the college’s football field and was supervised by the college administration. The attendees included assistant professors Dr. Hisham Az-Zain Majid, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Miyali, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Both teams demonstrated remarkable athletic abilities, reflecting their passion for soccer and emphasizing that the sport goes beyond pure competition – it serves as an artistic and cultural expression that fosters camaraderie among faculty, staff and students while maintaining an ambience of enjoyment. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. But in the subsequent penalty shootout, the International Studies Center team won with a final score of 3-2. At the end of the event, both teams were awarded medals and trophies.
This friendly match is part of the Student Activity Department’s initiatives for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. These initiatives are designed to provide faculty, staff and students with opportunities to participate in sports, promote sportsmanship and improve relationships within the campus community.
