The International Studies Department at the College of Political Science, University of Baghdad, held a seminar under the title “Second Track Diplomacy and its Role in Enhancing National Unity in Iraq,” under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Adel Al-Badawi. The seminar included the presentation of research papers by participating professors, as well as a discussion involving questions and relevant inputs. The workshop concluded that second track diplomacy plays a significant role in enhancing Iraqi national unity through the effectiveness of its tools, including individuals, civil society organizations, research and study centers, cultural tools, etc., which work to enhance national awareness by generating new thinking capable of changing concepts, influencing priority setting, intervening in conflict resolution and crisis management, as well as providing high-level platforms for exchanging views and experiences, and bridging perspectives, thereby enabling a more comprehensive understanding of issues through dialogue and understanding.
