The Political Systems Department at the College of Political Science organized a scientific workshop as part of its annual plan titled “Arab Political Systems’ Plans to Combat the Danger of Drugs on Youth,” under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Adel Al-Badaiwi.
During his leadership of the workshop, the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Ali Al-Jubouri, mentioned that Mr. Saif Sabri Qasim, representing the Director of the Social Police Department at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Nibras Mohammed Ali, was hosted to provide a comprehensive explanation about the danger of drugs and how to combat them. Additionally, three research papers were presented: the first paper by the Department Head addressed “Factors and Motives of Drug Abuse in the University Environment and Prevention Methods,” the second paper by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Aziz Al-Bayati focused on “Awareness of Digital Drugs and Their Negative Effects in Arab Universities: Gulf Universities as a Model,” and the third and final paper by Assistant Professor Dr. Sidad Mouloud Saba discussed “The Role of Government Policy in Combating Drugs in Iraq.”
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including that Iraqi official institutions should utilize advanced technology to detect unauthorized drug crops, identify their locations, and eradicate them. Furthermore, it emphasized intensifying Arab security cooperation, especially in the field of exchanging intelligence information to uncover money laundering operations.
At the end of the workshop, a dialogue session was opened for the attendees to address their inquiries and questions regarding the workshop’s topic.
