The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad organized a campaign to plant trees in the college’s courtyards and gardens, in celebration of National Afforestation Day, under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Al-Budaiwi.
Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Hisham Ezz El-Din Majeed, indicated during his supervision of the campaign that the college’s courtyards, centers, and gardens were planted with different types of seedlings, explaining the importance of afforestation as it is an essential source for producing oxygen, getting rid of carbon dioxide, and removing harmful plankton from the air. In addition to being considered an important source of renewable energy in nature, it preserves the ozone layer and prevents it from being exposed to holes, indicating that the importance of afforestation maintains the environmental balance, works to moderate climate, and prevent the phenomenon of global warming.
