The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific lecture for postgraduate students on the dissemination of scientific research in reputable journals under the title “Heroic Events of the Popular Mobilization Forces.”

Assistant Professor Fouzia Khadakram Aziz emphasized during her lecture that the Popular Mobilization Forces are part of the national resistance framework, representing a legitimate endeavor related to self-defense and preserving state sovereignty. The institution of the Popular Mobilization Forces was established based on legitimacy and legality. Legitimately, the Popular Mobilization Forces were founded according to the fatwa of the religious authority represented by His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, which united the Iraqi people and the factions of Islamic resistance to confront the terrorist gangs of ISIS. Legally, Article 51 of the United Nations Charter stipulates that “individual or collective self-defense if an armed attack occurs,” aligning with the justifications for the emergence of the Popular Mobilization Forces, characterized by organization, discipline, responsible leadership, adherence to the rules and laws of war, and bearing arms. This has led Western countries, led by the United States of America, to recognize the legitimacy of the Popular Mobilization Forces, its national and jihadist role, and its successive victories in numerous battles in hot areas such as Samarra, Mosul, and Anbar.

In conclusion, a dialogue was opened to answer the inquiries and questions of postgraduate students about the lecture.
