The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad hosted the President of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Vahakin Khagaturian, in order to give a lecture on Iraqi-Armenian relations, under the auspices of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ansaf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Al-Badawi.
During his lecture, which included politics and economics, the President of the Republic of Armenia stressed that Iraq has scientific competencies and a leading academic reputation in the Middle East, in addition to addressing several topics, most notably the political and cultural situation in his country, in addition to his vision of the developments and challenges taking place in the Middle East region.
For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad and the Dean of the College of Political Science praised the importance of these initiatives in exchanging cultural and academic dialogue among countries, stressing that this type of lecture contributes to students’ understanding of the political and economic issues that govern regional and international relations through multilateral dimensions.
It is noteworthy that “Vahakhan Khagaturian” is an Armenian politician, born in 1959, and he held several administrative positions in commercial institutions, and in the “Armenian National Congress” party, before assuming the presidency of Armenia in March 2022, in addition to being a prominent Armenian politician, writer and author, and has several scientific and professional publications and articles in the fields of economics and politics.
