The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Utilizing Sports in Peacebuilding, Including Social Development,” by student Aya Ghanem Nimr, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Enas Abdel Saada Ali.
The thesis shed light on external relations with ongoing conflict studies, analyzing its concept and history, in addition to presenting the history of sports and linking it to ongoing conflict studies.
The study focused in detail on the use of sports in peacebuilding, reviewing how sports can be used effectively in achieving understanding and understanding of peace within countries and in relations between countries, and through application to the SWOT matrix, one of the analysis tools that is used to clarify the most important points of strength, pressure, opportunities and computer threats. .
In light of this, the message reached a number of findings, the most prominent of which is that there is a natural relationship between politics and sports, and the first is controlled by the second, subject to employment, and it has not been isolated as a tool for building peace in many countries. Even many countries are progressing in this field, despite its effectiveness, and sports may be a reason. In spreading aggression, hatred, hatred and racism.
