The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad held a scientific lecture for postgraduate students on publishing scientific research in reputable journals under the title “Turkey and energy maps in the Middle East: prospects and challenges.”
During her lecture, Assistant Professor Dr. Donia Jawad Mutlaq pointed out the importance of researching the Turkish desire to secure its own energy sources in order to emerge as an effective regional power responsive to a project adopted by the United States of America called the “Osmanization of the Middle East” project, which was proposed by National Security Advisor Zibigniew Brzezinski, who established a new balance equation in the Middle East region that raised many caveats, including the religious conflict between traditional Islam and liberal Islam, which created a rift in regional balances that led to a threat to the value system of the people of the region, of which the Arab Spring in 2011 was one of its outcomes, as it caused many hotbeds of tension and crises in the Arab region.
At the end, an open discussion was inaugurated to answer the inquiries and questions of postgraduate students about the lecture.
