The college discussed a Master’s thesis entitled ‘The Impact of Strategic Leadership on Shaping Foreign Political Behavior: A Comparative Study of Trump and Putin’ presented by student Raghda Mohammed Nasser under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Dina Mohamed Jabr.
The thesis addressed the identification of leadership and its influence on shaping foreign political behavior, exploring how a leader manages a state’s strategy, and how different leadership styles vary from one leader to another. This variation is based on distinct characteristics possessed by strategic leaders that set them apart. It also highlighted their approaches towards foreign policy challenges and their abilities to find suitable solutions fitting their country’s circumstances. The study emphasized the differences in thinking and styles between leaders, such as Putin and Trump, owing to each individual’s unique traits and environmental upbringing. This diversity influences the strategic behaviors and foreign policies of leaders. Nevertheless, a strong correlation was established between strategic leadership and foreign political behavior, where a state’s strength or weakness can be discerned through the leader’s conduct and orientation.
The study pointed out the disparities between leaders of major countries and others due to their distinctive strategic thinking and wisdom in their actions to achieve their objectives and interests. However, it stressed the importance for a leader to take all necessary precautions that suit their situation and fit their country’s environment to delineate a clear and suitable strategy. Ultimately, the strategic leader plays a pivotal role in the process of strategic leadership.
At the conclusion of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a Master’s degree with a ‘High Distinction’ grade, extending best wishes for success and prosperity to all our esteemed students.”
