The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed the Master’s thesis titled ‘The Role of Technological Change in Conflict Management between the United States and China after 2001’ by student “Noor Yasin Khudair.”
The thesis clarified that the world has come to know that technology has become the primary element of power, and that those who do not possess knowledge and technology and do not strive to be part of the competition will be exactly like poor and weak countries, the role of technological change has significantly impacted international relations as a whole, technology has become a significant variable in the international system and an important determinant of conflict management,It is considered the most prominent tool for development and progress for nations. Therefore those who possess it hold the keys to other sources of power, the reason for the centrality of this role is that technology is no longer important in and of itself, but rather for its role in amplifying the magnitude of other sources of power and their impact, the end of the Cold War indeed led to strategic dominance for the United States, as it combined various forms of power and the ability to influence. This enabled them to achieve hegemony over the international system and during the period of American hegemony, other countries were seeking to gain more power and attempting to change the existing situation based on the theory of power transition, like China.
At the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a Master’s degree with a “very high distinction,” wishing all our students success in their academic and professional lives.
