The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, through its Continuing Education Unit, organized a training course entitled \u201cThe Role of the State Employees\u2019 Disciplinary System in Reducing Crime and Bribery.\u201d The course was held in the graduate studies halls from November 30 to December 2, 2025, with the participation of a number of college staff and relevant stakeholders.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The course aimed to enhance participants\u2019 awareness of the legal framework of the state employees\u2019 disciplinary system and its role in reducing crime and bribery and protecting public funds. This was achieved through practical lectures presented by Dr. Israa Taha Jazaa and Dr. Ali Jadie, which addressed the powers of investigative committees, the definition of bribery, and its associated penalties in the public sector.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16, which focuses on peace, justice, and strong institutions capable of combating corruption, as well as Goal 8, which promotes decent work and economic growth by fostering a work environment based on integrity, accountability, and transparency.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It also aligns with Iraq\u2019s National Security Strategy, which emphasizes combating corruption and protecting public funds as essential elements in strengthening trust between citizens and government institutions, and in building a public administration capable of providing fair and transparent services<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
