On Monday morning, November 24, 2025, the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis by student Zainab Mohsen Laibi, entitled:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Role of Women in Building Civil Peace in Post-Conflict Areas After 2003: Iraq as a Model.\u201d The discussion took place in the Dr. Jihad Al-Hassani Hall.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The examining committee consisted of the following faculty members:<\/span><\/strong>
\nProf. Dr. Abbas Hashim Aziz \u2013 Chair<\/span><\/strong>
\nProf. Dr. Abdul Karim Kadhim Ajil \u2013 Member<\/span><\/strong>
\nAssistant Professor Dr. Sudad Mawloud Saba\u2019 \u2013 Member<\/span><\/strong>
\nAssistant Professor Dr. Yusra Mahdi Saleh \u2013 Member and Supervisor<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis demonstrated that women’s participation is a fundamental element in achieving civil peace and social stability in Iraq. It emphasized that empowering women at both the legislative and societal levels is a strategic necessity for promoting justice and sustainable development, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee awarded the student a grade of “very good” for her thesis<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
