Assistant Teacher Baraa Amer Yahya , Head of the Governmental Communication and Mass Media Unit at the college of Political Sciences \/ University of Baghdad defended her PH.D dissertation Entitled :<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u201c Human Rights in Arabic TV Series and their Impact on Audience Awareness,\u201d<\/span>.<\/span> <\/strong>
\nThe discussion took place in the hall of Martyr Mohamed Baqer Al Sadr ( God bless his soul) in the college of Media and Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad , on Monday, June 23, 2025 . <\/span><\/strong>
\nThe dissertation explored the development of human rights concepts at both local and international levels and examined how these concepts are reflected in dramatic texts and Arabic television productions. The study analyzed the hypothesis regarding the influence of such series on audience awareness and sought to identify the relationship between legal and dramatic messages and audience responses across cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe researcher adopted a mixed-method approach that included both analytical and field survey components., three Arabic series were analyzed entitled \u201cPoisoned Honey, Sons of Badiaa , and Al- Hashashin ( Assassins)\u201d, beside implementing a field survey which contained (400) samples from the audience of the Capital city Baghdad. <\/span><\/strong>
\nThe thesis achieved the following results:<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u2022 Arabic TV series have a significant influence on audience awareness of women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights.<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u2022 Drama serves as an important educational tool, despite its limited ability to independently effect comprehensive change.<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u2022 There is a need to increase dramatic focus on other human rights issues, such as the rights of persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n1- Professor Dr. Raad Jassim Hamza \u2013 College of Media and Mass Communication at University of Baghdad\/ as President <\/span><\/strong>
\n2- Assistant. Instructor. Dr. Sinihat Mohammed Eiz Al \u2013 Deen \/College of Media and Mass Communication at University of Baghdad\/ as Member<\/span><\/strong>
\n3- Assistant. Instructor. Dr. Widad Ghazy \/College of Media and Mass Communication at University of Baghdad\/ as Member<\/span><\/strong>
\n4- Professor Dr.Nuha Atef Adly \/ College of Media and Mass Communication at University of Beni \u2013 Suef \/ as a Foreign Member<\/span><\/strong>
\n5- Professor Dr.Hussein Ali Nouri as a supervisor <\/span><\/strong>
\nAt the conclusion of the defense, the researcher was granted a PH.D in Media Philosophy with a grade of Very Good (High Distinction).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
