A delegation from the college of political Science, University of Baghdad, participated in “Iraqi Political Science Day” organized by the University of Kurdistan Hawler (UKH), with the participation of seven Iraqi Universities including the University of Baghdad, the American University of Iraq-Baghdad, Salahaddin University, Tishk University, Al-Sulaimania University, and Catholic University. This prestigeous event brought together distinguished groups of researchers, scholars, and students to exchange insights and promote collaboration in the field of political science and international relations. The discussions covered political transformations in Iraq, Kurdistan , and the broader region.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The program featured more than 25 Researches presenting in three languages (Arabic, Kurdish, and English), with simultaneous translation, distributed on scientific sessions focusing on various themes, including the International political Economy, regional policy, governance, social dynamics, and disputed territories.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Active participation from the College of Political Science – University of Baghdad:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The college made a prominent contribution through the participation of an elite of instructors, who played key research and organizational roles, including:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– Asst. Prof. Dean Assistant Dr. Hesham Ezzulddin Majeed*, a member of the scientific committee of the event, participated in evaluating the scientific research papers and effectively participated in the success of the organizational aspect.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– Asst. Lec. Hala Samer Yousif*, a permanent member of the scientific and coordinating committees, participated effectively in evaluating and choosing the papers and coordinating the panel sessions. In addition to participating in the final discussion panel which discussed the future of political science in the Iraqi Universities, outlining key challenges faced by faculty members and students, while also suggested propoaing mechanisms and measures to improve academic and educational landscape.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– Asst. Lec. Abrar Jawad Kathim* presented a research entitled “the U.S.- China Trade War and its Role in Reshaping International Alliances” examining the impact of economic competition among major powers on the structure of the contemporary international system.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– Asst. Lec. . Rand Luay Abdalhudee* introduced her research entitled “The Effectiveness of women’s Quota: Selected Regional Study” and discussed the role on quota in strengthening women’s political representation, while addressing the cultural and structural challenges that hinder true empowerment.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– Asst. Lec. Ziad Alo Attallah* participated with his research entitled “Ethnic and Regional Diveraity and its impact on Foreign Policy Orientations of Iraq after 2010” exploring how Iraq’s internal diversity is reflected in its regional and international policies and how it can be leveraged to serve national interests .<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The event concluded with an extended panel discussion session, which featured various academic figures from the participated universities. The discussions provided a future<\/strong><\/span>
\ninsights and evaluation in the field of political science, emphasizing the importance of expanding the research collaboration and deceloping curricula in the Iraqi universities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
