International Studies Department at the College of Political Science , University of Baghdad held a symposium entitled \u201cThe Role of the Cultural Variable in Strengthening Peacebuilding Mechanisms in Iraq,\u201d sponsored by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Al-Budaiwi.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe symposium included reading a number of research papers by the participating professors, in addition to presenting a set of relevant questions and substantive interventions. The symposium concluded that the peacebuilding process in Iraq can only be achieved through a number of mechanisms, the most important of which is strengthening the role of religious, security, and educational institutions. In addition to the role of the media and social communication in promoting and building peaceful coexistence in Iraqi society and spreading the spirit of tolerance among the components of Iraqi people.<\/span><\/strong>
\nAt the end of the symposium, the time was opened for the attendees in order to answer their questions and inquiries about the role of the cultural variable in strengthening peace-building mechanisms in Iraq.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
