The Ibn Sina Unit for Integrated Education, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Political Science, organized an educational workshop titled “The Phenomenon of Corruption and Ways to Combat It,” under the supervision of the Assistant Professor and Dean of the College, Dr. Adel Al-Badawi.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop organizers explained that corruption is one of the most prominent challenges facing the political system in Iraq. Corruption is a hidden phenomenon prevalent in most countries around the world. International and local organizations have defined it as the misuse of power to achieve personal interests. Various phenomena, causes, and implications of corruption were also elucidated during the workshop.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with several recommendations, highlighting the importance of international strategies to curb this scourge, as well as the establishment of mechanisms by the Integrity Commission to combat corruption in Iraq.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Participants in the workshop included Dr. Ayad Malik, Dr. Maha Shukr, Dr. Haider Ali, Dr. Zaman Jasim, Assistant Professor Hassana Mohamed, Assistant Professor Sally Moufaq, Assistant Professor Shaimaa Qais, and Assistant Professor Shaimaa Mohamed.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of the workshop, a dialogue was opened for the attendees to address their questions and inquiries regarding the phenomenon of corruption and ways to combat it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
