Civil wars are one of the characteristics of African countries, or they are the most widespread among the countries of the other continents of the world. The civil war that Sierra Leone witnessed in the early nineties of the last century represented one of the ugliest forms of wars. The civil war is an atrocity, fueled by internal political forces and regional forces that have increased its severity and persistence for more than a decade. It appears that the weakness of the state and its institutions has increased the severity of the impact of the civil war on Sierra Leonean society, in a way that the state has become weaker than society, that is, the forces The main political party involved in the civil war was stronger than the state.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Open Sans';\">The raging conflict prompted the government in Sierra Leone to ask the international community, specifically the United Nations, to take into account the conflict in Sierra Leone. It was noted in that era that the developments in the international situation and the collapse of the bipolar system led to the rise of new concepts that became the focus of the international organization\u2019s interest, such as Peace, transitional justice, human rights, and indeed a criminal court was formed, but of a special type, given that it came at the request of the Sierra Leone government.
