The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discussed the master\u2019s thesis entitled \u201cThe Problem of Building Peace in Afghanistan after 2002: A Study of the Components and Challenges.\u201d<\/span><\/strong>
\nBy the student \u201cRusul Rahman Mohsen\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The letter explained that Afghanistan is characterized by an important geographical location located in the heart of the continent of Asia, where Afghanistan possessed many mineral resources that were unexploited. Therefore, Afghanistan has become on the list of international and regional interests, in addition to being a crossing path to South Asian markets. Many countries, including international and regional ones such as (Russia, China, Iran), have sought to control the countries of Afghanistan and fill the void left by the United States of America after withdrawing from Afghanistan. In 2021 AD, these forces also expressed their readiness to deal with the new Taliban government. This is to give it a foothold in Afghanistan in a way that enables it to maintain its interests, and also to strengthen its influence in the region and in Afghanistan. This led to turning Afghanistan into an arena for conflicts and competition between international and regional powers. Despite the importance of Afghanistan\u2019s vital location, it represents a burden for it. This is a result of the intertwining interests between local, regional and international powers, as many internal problems have emerged, including tribal rivalry between ethnicities in Afghan society.<\/span><\/strong>
\nBuilding peace in Afghanistan after the American occupation faced many problems and obstacles, the most important of which was the persistence of the Taliban movement as a major player in the region and in the Afghan arena, as it trained new leaders taking advantage of the turbulent social and economic conditions there.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
