The College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad discusses a dissertation entitled \u201cElectoral Systems and the Problem of Managing Political Diversity in Iraq after 2005.\u201d by the student \u201cAmmar Saleh Jabbar\u201d.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe Dissertation explaines the importance of electoral systems in managing political diversity and finding a kind of balance, as one of the effective tools of the political system capable of developing an institutional remedy for this challenge facing most of the socially divided and democratically young countries.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThere are many institutions and tools that the political system uses to manage political (partisan) diversities in a peaceful manner, since managing political diversity is a daunting task that the political system undertakes, especially in the post-conflict phase and the desire to move from conflict to peace.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe legislative institution is one of these political institutions that enhance the chances of solving problems of political diversity, which is naturally an extension of societal diversity, and this depends to some extent on its electoral structure firstly, and on the rules governing the electoral process secondly.<\/span><\/strong>
\nHowever, the most important link remains the tools of the political system in managing political diversity represented by electoral systems, which are considered one of the important indicators of the extent of neutrality of that political system. Countries that draw their electoral laws well are the most successful in managing political diversity, especially when basic pillars are available in this law, such as the electoral system that is characterized by justice, inclusiveness, and a source of stability, neutral electoral districts, and mechanisms of distributing seats on the various party entities that support political development.<\/span><\/strong>
